Your contract of insurance requires you to give your broker (Howden) immediate notice of any claim or circumstance, which may give rise to a claim, regardless of any excess that you have to bear under your policy cover, or whether you think that you may be legally liable. Typical examples include a third party injury involving hospital treatment, allegations of libel/slander, or professional negligence, eg arising out of tuition, coaching or advice given, any circumstance that has triggered a safeguarding investigation, or any circumstance involving damage to third party property.
If you are in any doubt at all about what needs to be notified, please refer to the Liability Claims Notification Requirements.
It is important that you notify Howden of all accidents and incidents that could give rise to a claim.
If the incident has involved an injury to someone or damage to their property, you should report the details to Howden as soon as possible.
Please contact Donna Goulbourne at Howden on 0121 698 8043 to report an incident.
